Facial Fillers at Hush Aesthetic Clinic

 

Facial fillers are injected into or just below the skin to correct a wrinkle or deep fold. They fill out wrinkles and smooth the overlying skin by adding volume to the skin and increasing skin hydration. They are also used to increase volume in the lips and the cheeks and to treat some facial scars.

Common areas treated include the forehead, wrinkles around the eyes (crows feet) and mouth and skin creases between the nose and mouth.

Here at Hush Aesthetic Clinic Fillers are commonly used together with Botox and other muscle-relaxing injections to effectively rejuvenate the face, particularly in younger patients.

Restylane and Juvederm are the commonest skin fillers used. They contain Hyaluronic acid which is a naturally-occurring substance normally found in the skin. Their effects are temporary and usually last around six to twelve months.

Restylane and Juvederm contain a local anaesthetic and the injections are also preceded by the application of a topical local anaesthetic cream to the face to reduce discomfort. Occasionally a dental injection of local anaesthetic can be used for some patients.

Certain patients may be more effectively treated by the use of surgical cosmetic procedures such as a brow or facelift. This will be discussed with the patient where appropriate.
